  My, what an interesting thread this is. Don't log on for two days and look what happens. I'm all teary eyed (joyfully so).

  FBF, Six has been one of my best friends for 17 years (minus the year of our divorce). I can't even describe how happy I am that he's met someone special - maybe "the one."

  When Six came back from Paris, I told FOSHLL her daddy was falling in love. FOSHLL and I had an "Aawwwww, that's so sweet" moment. Six, you need to share this with her if you haven't already.

  Congratulations to you both and I'm looking forward to meeting you someday, FBF. (FOSHLL and I have plans to learn French.)

  what if god was just experimenting with different planets from different galaxies and solar systems?

  i mean that what if god grew bored at one point and decided to create?well, everything?

  neighborhoods = different galaxies and solar systems, metaphorically.

  If this is the same one I read about, the woman was a housekeeper in her 60s. She's been cleaning up after others her entire life, so I hope she hires a maid with her money.

  Every time the Texas lottery gets huge, I buy a few tickets. Then I take my dog for a walk and fantasize about what I'll do with all that money.

  Pay off all debts.

  Buy my ex-husband a house.

  Take care of whatever my best friend needs/wants.

  Start a nonprofit organization for single mothers, to help with daycare and college expenses.

  Open a vintage furniture store specializing in midcentury modern designs. Travel the countryside going to auctions and the like searching for unique pieces.

  Now I just need to hit my numbers.

  I QUIT!

  i quit....smoking that is, my pack to 1 1/2 pack a day habit...i quit june 4th, not a single cigarette since then...though 5 to 7 pounds...are ya proud of me...huh huh huh....i had a few of ya hoping i was leaving the board....ha!

  Well done you! I quit in April for the sixth and final time. Every time before after I'd "smoked my last one", I'd watch a movie where someone was smoking and I wouldn't even make it all the way through before walking down to the corner store for a pack. But this time seems to be working. Also quit Diet Coke and that was almost as hard, oddly enough.

  Oh, and I'm another liberal who's glad you're not leaving the board.

  This is a great letter. I'm anxious to hear a response (if you get one at all). Your situation mirrors mine and it's very confusing. I finally figured out why I would get the occasional phone call or letter - my parents love me. And I'm sure that goes for you, too - (your parents loving you, not my parents loving you).

  You made a lot of good points that I'm going to remember, should the occasion ever arise.
